The public
apology of Bobby Ripp for his criticism
of the move of
God
(Used by permission)
Dear Brethren in Christ,
I, Robert J.Ripp, a watchman and a fellow Christian, on this day of March
23, 1997 make this public proclamation: As of March 21, 1997, thereafter
personally discussing with Dr. Michael L. Brown, concerns (unusual physical
manifestations and the motives of those revivalist in attendance) which I
thought to be contrary to teachings of the Holy Scriptures, and after
attending a divine appointed revival service at Brownsville Assembly of God,
and after reviewing many taped sermons and written testimonies and after
much prayer and by God's leading, I recant all statements, I levied against
the Rodney Howard-Browne revivals, the Toronto Christian Fellowship revival
and the Brownsville Assembly of God revival, be it published or otherwise.
Let it also be known, because of the damaged I possibly caused to our
Father's kingdom, unto God I repented. And, unto all the Brethren I may have
hindered or quenched their hunger for true revival, or may have had a zeal
or were moved By God to take part in one of these revivals, I ask for
forgiveness.
Henceforth, in regards to the present 'Holy Spirit's awakening tidal wave,'
that is sweeping all throughout the world in these final hours, may God
bestow upon me an unquenchable passion to minister to those who have been
awakened. Also may God bestow upon me the wisdom and the knowledge to be
able to impart credible and scholarly reasoning unto those who may have
justifiable concerns, thereof.
For His glory, only!
Bobby Ripp
Bro Bobby, Thank you for your honesty and
integrity. It takes courage and humility to apologize publicly.
God bless you....
