" ... for there is a sound of abundance of rain." )
 1 Kings 18:41 Aug 2002

in this issue

Greetings!

Most people probably love the sound of rain falling on the roof of their house. Especially on a cold night tucked in bed with a hot cup of tea or coffee clutched in their hand. The noise is somehow comforting, probably because we subconciously know that we are not outside getting cold and wet.

It is almost how we feel under the anointing. We feel so warm and safe and comforted and we can hear the sound of the abundance of the rain of the Spirit. The word says, " ... for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust ..." Matthew 5:45 This is the heart of God, always ready to bless us. Ephesians 2:4 declares that God "... is rich in mercy" Whatever your situation is now, He will always cause you to triumph in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14) We need to come in out of the cold of life's stress and into the warmth of His presence and enjoy the sound of the abundance of the rain of God's blessing.

Outpouring at the Burning Bush Tabernacle

WOW!!! What an awesome three weeks of revival meetings in Grayling Michigan, with pastor Patty Petrie. Heavens gates opened each night and God rained down His glory. There were significant breakthroughs each meeting as God reached down to touch sick and hurting people.

As always, there is not enough space to list all that God did, but there were some notable miracles of healing. A couple who were born again two months ago, came to the meeting on Monday night. She came forward for the altar ministry, and God gave her an awesome word and the power of God literally dumped her on the floor. She lay for about one hour and finally got up and told us God had healed her. She had been suffering for about a week from a stomach condition that the doctors considered serious. In fact they suspected stomach cancer. But God had removed all pain. After the meeting, she went to eat at the pastors house and had a plate of dinner and went home rejoicing. The couple were so excited because God had healed her husbands deaf ear. She walked about for a long time saying "Can you hear me now? ... Can you hear me now?" to test his hearing.

This lady had been raised in a satanic covern and had witnessed many bad things. She ran away from home at the age of 12 and lived on the streets. Because of all the ritualistic abuse and supressed emotions, God still had more work to do. The next night, she cried loudly for about 30 minutes, then the laughter hit her and continued through the rest of the meeting and into the early hours of the morning.

At the next morning meeting, she testified that she had never been alowed to cry or laugh and had been punished by her satanic high priest parents. But God unleashed the floodgates of emotional healing and blessed her beyond her wildest expectations. It has been awesome to witness the work in progress.

What ever happened to Pentecost?
In the minds of millions of Christians, the power of God is a thing of the past. They have been taught that miracles and demonstrations of the Spirit stopped when the last Apostle died. But what they fail to realize is that those awesome miracles mentioned in the book of Acts, did not come from the Apostles but rather from God by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Apostles.

In fact, the book of Acts is still being written today because the Holy Spirit is alive and well and living in the Body of Christ. Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." Jesus never has changed and people still need help just as they did in the bible days.

If you had hung around Jesus back in the bible days, you would have seen miracles often. He is still the same Lord and if you hang around Him today, you will see miracles. But many people stop short of receiving God's miracle working power simply because they don't expect it.

Expectation is the seadbed for miracles. The word of God is the producer of faith. We see and hear the promise of God and it builds faith. Faith is the key that unlocks the door to the miraculous. When expectation arises, we step out by faith and receive what God said we can have.

Faith is the key...
Just like the woman in Mark 5, who had the issue of blood 12 years. No hope and no money, she was desperate. She saw the miracles Jesus did and faith arose in her heart. She said "if I could only touch His garments, I shall be made whole" She came in the press behind and touched His clothes. Instantly she was healed. We may not have Jesus personally present, but He is still the same and wants to do mighty things for you.

You may not have an issue of blood, but you might have a difficult "issue" and in your mind you think God cannot solve your problem. But that is not true. God is ABLE and desires with all His heart to help you. You need to position yourself to receive the touch of God.

It amazes me that folks come to our meetings, get greatly touched then immediately go back to being what they used to be. Then blame the revival. But just as we drink water every day, we need to drink of the water of life daily. It must never end.
