Answer to Frequently Asked Question # Ten

Have you ever heard of pain being associated with the anointing?

Yes I have heard of pain being experienced. I dont personally want to experience it though. Everytime I have felt the anointing, it has made me feel good. It has been peaceful, joyful and intoxicating. I have never felt pain, just tingling, numbness, heat and kind of light in the head, a lot of peace and of course the joy of the Lord. I have also seen people shaking under the anointing.

You need to remember that God's power is great. When we get just a small touch of His power, our human bodies cannot contain it. It affects people's nervous systems differently. The manifestations are not what God is doing, just an outward reaction to an inward work.

Like in Acts 9, where Saul of Tarsus, falls to the ground, and the light of God shines on him, he hears a voice, and the bible says, he trembling and astonished. So there is a definate reaction that mere mortal beings, like us, experience when an immortal, omnipotant God touches them.

The focus should never be on experiences, but rather on Him who is dealing with us. When you are intimately involved with Jesus, His glory comes upon you and you change.

1 Corinthians 12 says, "... the manifestation of the Spirit is give to all to profit withall" There should come a benefit from the touch of God on your life.
